Turkish coffee, brewed in sand
Slow-brewed the traditional way and served with a square of Turkish delight — the drink that started the whole route.

Oude Ebbingestraat 48 — Groningen — 53.2217° N, 6.5636° E
Turkish coffee brewed in sand. Greek freddo shaken over ice. Argentinian empanadas folded by hand. Everything at Agora comes from somewhere the owner has actually lived — and it's served the way it's served back home.
The route
Necat spent ten years living in six countries before settling in Groningen — not visiting, living. Every drink and pastry at Agora comes from somewhere on that route. Scroll through it.

Slow-brewed the traditional way and served with a square of Turkish delight — the drink that started the whole route.

Where coffee stopped being a habit and became an obsession — bright, floral cups that still shape how we pull espresso today.

The pura vida rhythm behind the café — no rushed cups, no queue pressure, stay as long as the coffee lasts.

Maté served traditionally in a thermos cup with a metal straw, hot milk with a chocolate bar to melt yourself, and nine kinds of hand-folded empanadas.

Winters in Warsaw taught us that a café is judged by its cake case. Ours changes daily, depending on what came out of the oven.

Oude Ebbingestraat 48 — a chesterfield, a Persian rug, and a rusted-metal world map marking every country that ended up on the menu.

The room
“Every plate on this counter is from somewhere we've lived.”
Light oak tables, tulips in cut glass, chalkboard menus, and a counter stacked with Greek sweets — behind the oxblood facade at number 48. Take a seat inside or on the terrace, order something you've never tried, and stay a while.
